Monday - 7/27/2009 - Upgraded Template

We upgraded to the new blogger template, about 2 years too late. Some tweaking still awaits.

Lower arms sore.

Sunday - 7/26/2009

Rain all night and humid.

Usual lower back work. Upper body sore, skipped chins/dips.

Grip Training
Should have skipped grip also. Sore from elbows down. Tried to salvage something for 20 minutes,
then lit a cigar.

Thursday - 7/23

430AM

Many reverse hypers and 45 degree hypers. If I keep waking up like this, may start keeping cane by bed. Louie Simmons should be knighted for inventing the reverse hyper.

Grip Training
Right - Plate Pinching + weight
Left - Go Really/Gripper closes and holds. Yes we are using a MM set. The hardest part of a gripper close is the close. Work it. The rest will fall into place.
Titans Telegraph
Grippers slowly coming around. Left middle knuckle is still a bit raw. Held off on adding strap holds.

Good to see our beloved grip forum is choosing to ignore the pedantic, self loathing rants of the IM overlord. It's time to move on.

July 20 - 21

Many chins and dips before grip training. Used Spud belt with weight plus 5/8 inch chains draped over neck. The swing from belt and chains adds a great dimension.

Grip Training
Right - Plate pinching + weight.
Left - Go Really, gripper closes/holds

We see that IM has another callow screed posted about CC certification, the early legends, and berating of the Gripboard founder. We grow weary over this repeated dance. We will say it again, the "mockery" rests entirely with IM, they selected the judges that approved the certifications. As for KTA, we have it, the "setting" demonstrates, what used to be the legal 1 inch close range. The same set that Nathan Holle demonstrates in the IM book, "Captains of Crush Grippers; What They Are and How to Close Them". We see a second edition of this book is coming this fall, let the redactions commence. ;)

Saturday - 7/18

5AM
Plenty of dips and chins. Instead of dip belt, used 5/8 inch chains slung over neck. Gave dips a different feel.

Grip Training
Right - Plate pinching
Left - Go Really/Grippers
May start to work strap holds in next week.

July 14 - July 17

Continuing to hit many pullups and dips. Great warmup for grip. Weight is still slowly coming off.

Grip Training

Right - Concentrating on plate pinching.
Left - Go Really/Hardy/Grippers. I hate fucking crush. Left middle finger base knuckle still "tweaky"
but getting better.
Titan's - Both hands

We are not surprised to see IM jump the shark and incoherently, publicly denigrate a steady customer because they questioned the quality of a recent gripper purchase. We saw the cheese slipping off the cracker when they ran the Milo Brookfield article, with the photo spread of him dumping ice water on his head while wearing nothing but boxer shorts.

Grip has reached the level of 2 Girls 1 Cup. ;)

Sunday - 7/12

Sore

Many Chins/Dips

Grip Training
Left - Go Really/Hardy Handshake/Some grippers. I hate fucking grippers. Left middle finger knuckle still not 100%. Blob work still hurts.
Right - Plate Pinching + Plate Mates

Saturday - 7/11

45 degree hypers w/weight
Reverse Hypers
Many chins/dips - great warmup for grip
Used spud dip belt. Heavy nylon webbing much more comfortable then old leather piece

Right - Plate Pinching
Left - Go Really - Grippers. The comeback road is paved with rocks.

We noticed the recent pinhead debate over the no-set/MM Set cheating nonsense.
If you want to close big grippers, you need to gain strength to plow through the last 1/4". Nothing
will work better than deep setting and concentrating on that range. Working no set with lighter grippers will only get you to a certain level. The room temperature IQ stance comparing MM setting to bench shirts holds no water.

Brookfield's writings are full of "setting the gripper" so you can get the best position for your hand size. As you begin murdering the "close" everything will come up.

Remember - Block weights = Hand Strength

New Equipment

Picked up the SPUD DIPPING BELT at EliteFTS this week. Will begin to work it in this weekend.
It is a top quality piece. EliteFTS is at the top of the mountain when it comes to service and product.

One thing they do not have is the PDA Blobette. This piece is well worth it if you are chasing the BLOB. Get one.

Friday - 7/10

Many chinups and dips.
Titan's Telegraph.
Aveeno on callouses.

Wednesday - 7/8

YMCA - Many pullups/dips.
Light Titans Telegraph.
Dropped about 30 pounds, feel tremendous.

We want to thank our friend House for the sudden burst of traffic here. Adsense revenue is off the chart, and when one plugs in "grip training" in the google, we find ourselves on the first page. Our grip voice continues to reach the masses. ;)

Now to splurge the AdSense Benjamins on Cigarbid. :)

Tuesday 7/7

Best I've felt in a month. Prednisone effects are gone.
Hit dips/pullups/grip.

We are getting a kick out of the self important horse's ass "House" commenting about our little blog. ;)

GFY

Sunday - 7/5

Poison Ivy settled down this week. Lots of new skin. Pus has run its course. Prednisone cycle is over. Can think clearly again.

Did not miss any workouts this week. Many dips, Many pullups.
Grip strength rebounding after prednisone squashing.
