There was a recent thread on the GB about attaching weights for pinch work. If you
have the cash, the best bang for the buck will be magnetic Platemates. I have multiple
pairs of 5/8lb, 1.25lb,2.5lb and 5lb. They will become a solid mass with your implement(s).

I've been watching videos of the "laying string attached plates over the tops of blobs" method.
Many of the examples shown have the implement leaving the ground first and the plates leaving
the ground when the strings slack is finally taken up. This is like getting a head start in a foot race. You are fooling yourself when you win.

If you are going to use this method, be sure that the added plates are not
touching the ground and they get airborne at the same time as the implement.
