Saturday - 9/30 Part 2

Went up the Y for a light one.
Did a few circuits of chins, Hammer Rows, Rope Pulls etc.

Now I will get some cardio by jumping up and down on a gripper I can't close. Hopefully that will help. Time to set some PR's! ;)

On a serious note, I think the lack of participation is outrageous in the latest round of MM signups. We have people crushing MM4's in 1 inch chokers, no setting #3's, nearly closing SE's, well you get the picture.

I will say it again, when your claims get to a certain level in your GB provided log areas, you should be forced to signup, or stop posting.

Who the fuck knows anymore. ;)

Picked Up Some New Stuff

EliteFTS had a two day sale (it's over - sign up for the emails). I grabbed some t-shirts, Jack's Blue Heat, a new Ironmind #3 (the one with the new engraving) and the Armory Forearm Blaster

Free UPS shipping also. The #3 was $16.95! The Armory was $19.95. The GRIP-Page has plans to make a similiar item, but I was overcome with instant gratification syndrome.

The Armory is a thick plastice device (seems sturdy) with heavy rubber bands. I screwed around with it and it seems to hit the forearms pretty good.

Again, I highly recommend you sign up for their emails. They regularly sales or special offers. The service is top-notch, they are all world-class competitors and they will talk to you on the phone. The info in the QandA and articles sections is amazing.

And the phrase "Dear Friend" is no where to be found. ;)

Saturday 9/30

Got up at 5 to take care of some stuff at work. I'm sick like a fucking animal. God I hope it's not the bird flu. ;)
630AM - Grip Training
Left - 1/2 York 80 (42lbs) - 9 singles, 5 with +6.25lbs in platemates, 2 with +7.5 in platemates. Wrist improving. It was worth backing off.

Right 9 singles with PDA Blobette (45.5lbs base) - 7 were with +1.25lbs. Concentrating on form. Qhick lifts.

Fooled with sledge hammer stuff for about 10 minutes.

I have noticed that overcoming the inertia to break the blocks off the floor is the toughest for me. Hand placement and amount of starting squeeze pressure are critical (Hands < 7.5"). Practice is necessary. Doing negative holds helps greatly BUT it is easy to get over-confident.

T-Shirt Is On the Way

Just got notification that the Gripboard t-shirt shipped. Cafepress gets my approval.

I'm going to grab a Grippermania t-shirt when I shake this fucking cold.

And a DEATH.FM shirt. This is THE BEST Death/Black Metal Streamer on the Inter-net.

I'm going to design a "Foot-Stomp Seasoning Shirt" ;)

Link Refesh

We see Google is directing a lot of people here looking for "do it yourself links". We re-post in order to keep us on top of the search heap:

The Grip Page has great stuff, especially for making superior leverage wrist devices, and other grip training equipment GRIP PAGE

Learn How to build your own thick / fat barbells and dumbbells HERE Links to parts included

Fightraining has more awesome ideas. Not only for training grip, but other all body stuff as well.

Let us not forget the YORK HAND BALANCING Course - For some reason this gets quite a bit of activity.

And the rest of the great stuff at the SANDOWPLUS SITE. The Online Physical Culture Museum and Library. These cats have scanned in hundreds of pages of works written by Eugene Sandow, Arthur Saxon, Martin 'Farmer' Burns, Hermann Goerner and many others. Be sure your printer works and you have plenty of time to read.

These Classic Public Domain works, make up for a huge amount of out clicks here.

Seasoning Baloney

I just saw mention that someone closed an Elite out of the bag and commented that he should get reps with it after it seasons. I will concede that after working with a gripper for a period of time, doing normal closes, a gripper will get a bit smoother in operation, but I have not had grippers "weaken". Excluding those piece of shit Heavy Grips, of course.

I would advance the idea that once you post Elite or better closes in your GB log, you are forced to enter the MM ladder. Or leave the board. ;)

Friday - 9/29

Closing Grippers

I have referenced THIS PAGE before, I think it is an excellent account of someone clmbing the gripper ranks and the importance of block weight training (Brookfield). Remember closing grippers has a certain "technique", so you still have to practice with them. But the blocks work the WHOLE hand and will not only payoff in bigger gripper closes but will carryover into other aspects of grip.

Before you get duped into buying into some secret squirrel gripper training newsletter, put some time in on the above routine.

If you need to specialize and peak AFTER building a base, then throw in a cycle of KTA. That routine has a good, proven track record.

Chokers

I cannot figure these things out. If I put a #3 in my hand I can close it. Stick it in a choker at 1" or less, and NOTHING. All I get is a stabbing pain in the second knuckle of my middle finger.

I think that with a gripper choked to parallel there is a tendency to push it deeper into your hand. Deeper than you would normally be able to close the gripper with normally. I'm sure they have their place, but it astounds me when I see some of the big ass grippers some are closing from a choked position. If I am not mistaken, I think I saw one recent post where someone claimed a #4 close from a one inch choker?!? Come on. :O We know who the legit guys are, but some of this stuff just does not ring right.

I am wondering two things; Have these grippers been FOOT STOMPED seasoned? And does hand size play a role in avoiding the severe knuckle pain?

It also seems like there is too high of a percentage of monster grippers being closed in recent months, BUT a drought of certifications.

We Are Fucked ;)

I just saw this LINK on Tommy Fannon's Board. The ASS-WIPER has me stunned. ;)

I have watched Sam's and the Wegmans Supermarket go from having a couple of the electric carts to a half dozen or more in the past couple of years.

On Sunday morning Sam's Club is like friggin Talladega Nights with these rude fat fucks zipping around the aisles and tying up the meat and snack food areas.

Thurs - 9/28

5AM
Lower back/ab warmup
Upright Rows w/ Apollon's Axle - 123x10 173 - 8sets of 10 Fast pace.
Skipped Hammer curls again. Still some shadow discomfort.

Lower arms fatigued from axle.

Left - 1/2 York 80 (42lbs) - 9 singles. Worked up in singles to 11.875lbs in Platemates for some air. Wrist is steadily improving.

Right - PDA Blobette - 45.5lbs base - 8 singles with +1.25lbs in Platemates. Thumb was fairly fatigued, concentrated on technique.

Wed - 9/27

530AM
Went in feeling a bit "flat" today.
Hammer Rows (weights load at top) - Worked up to 4 pairs and change. Rest was scrounging around for 45's. 3 sets (15 reps or so) with top weight.
Hammer-Lat Pull - 4 sets - stayed with 4 pair and change.
Rope Pulls- 3x20
Smith Press/Hammer Press - 3 circuits.
Light arms
abs

Moved quickly through all movements.

The Ivanko Super Gripper

I have noticed in a workout log that someone is using this device with springs in the 11 and 12 postions. I have two of these units, and have tried to get the springs in this position, and find it IMPOSSIBLE. There is just no room. I recall this being brought up before by someone, then we were back to seeing the springs at 10 and 12 for a time, now it's back to 11,12.

I tried a wall model at the local fitness retailer over the weekend and was met with the same insurmountable situation.

I am curious to know if some of these units did indeed have narrower springs at one time. Is this an example of Super Grippers varying? or bat-guano? ;)

Tues - 9/26

Grip Training

Right - PDA Blobette - 45.5lbs base. Single Deadlifts. 2 w/ +5/8lbs , 4 w/ +1.25lbs, 2 w/ +2.5lbs. Concentrated on form. All quick pulls.

Fooled with 10lb sledge and ax.

Ironmind Shiny #2

I screwed around between sets over the weekend with the shiny #2, RB210, Supermaster and two dark spring #2s. The shiny unit is definitely the most varying of what I own. The RB210 and Supermaster are nearly identical. The dark spring #2s match fairly close. All are not too bad of a squeeze for the first inch or so. The shiny #2 is stiff through it's full range. I would not say it's as tuff as the SM or 210 at the close, but is stiffer through its ROM. The SM, 210 and other #2's are 2.75" spread.

I've been grabbing the shiny unit and closing it cold throughout the day for the past week. No chalk. The "layoff" has helped the bad wrist, and the cold closes seem to be fine-tuning the effort.

I'm going to stop at the fitness joint and get a shiny #2 and #3 and work on more comparisons once the wrist tightens up.

NONE of these grippers have been foot stomped or humiliated in any way. ;)

Gripboard Upgrade

Good luck with the upgrade!

UPDATE: The board is back up. Get over there and buy a shirt to defer the upgrade costs. I will in a few hours.

Be sure to review the Urban Legend thread. Many good points.

Monday - 9/25

Late post. Fuking cable modem was blinking.
530AM
Close Grip Bench - Index on Smooth - 135x40 225-4x40
Hammer Flat,Incline,Decline - 3 circuits - no rest.
Cable Pullovers - 3x20
Hammer Row (the one one with the weights below the handles) - did sort of shrugging movement. Kept arms straight (slight bend), just row with should blades. Get the Kelso Shrug book. Lots of good stuff. Also helped to traction right elbow.

Team America - Hans Brix

Another classic segment to ease your post workout trauma. Enjoy!

Hmmm.

I just noticed a thread where a BIG closer noticed some of these workout logs where people are closing some BIG-ASS grippers and ARE NOT on the MM ladder.

After watching someone close a #4 with a supposed "spring hold", I can see how gripper legitimacy is going to shit.

Bruce White is nauseating in his coffin now.
;)

Sunday 9/24

10AM
Got obsessed with comparing Joomla to Mambo last night. Now I'm behind.
Right Elbow at bicep still has a bit of a tweak. It travels up to front delt.
Decided to dial it back.

Upright rows w/ Apollon's Axle - 123-4x30 Svend Style. Short rests. Arms and thumbpads swelled up after this, stayed that way through workout.

Skipped hammer curls, no sense in aggravating things further.

Left - Block work with 1/2 York 80 (42lbs)
Worked up to +11.25lbs in magnets. Pulled few inches from floor. Wrist is getting better every day. Anything wider still irritates it.

Right - PDA Blobette - added lead - base weight is 45.5lbs
8 or 10 singles. Worked up to +5-5/8lbs in Platemates, broke a few inches from floor. Fucking thing was slippery today. ;)

NO negative/HOLDs. I have found that the holds should be used sparingly. Nothing worse than a tired thumb.

Plasma TV

I'm in the market to replace my buggy Philips Plasma. I've had it about 3-1/2 years, now it's fritzing out.

A word to you all. If Christ stepped off the cross and asked me to give Philips another chance, the answer would be NO. ;) Their phone support is worthless.

I am going to buy the replacement at Sam's Club. They take everything back. I'm tempted to grab the 32" Vizio. It's $699, the picture seems okay, and it will grab over the air HD.

As this develops, I will update.

UPDATE - 9/24 - Now the fucking thing is working. It may have been the weather change and the piece of shit power supply reset after being unplugged all night. I'm going to NOT shut it off, just park it at an empty input.

Saturday 9/23 - Part 2

Hammer Lat Pull - the one where you face the weights.
Sets of 15, added a pair of 45's each set, worked up to 5 pair, then worked back down. Rest on ascent was 30 seconds give or take 10 seconds, depending where I had to grab the plates. No rest on the way down "strip sets".

Hammer High Row - 3x20 medium weight
Rope Pulls - 3x30 light
Smith Presses, Hammer Presses, Hammer Laterals - 3 circuits.
Light arms

It is about fucking time! ;)

IRONMIND NEWS

Saturday 9/23

630AM
Lower Back Ab Warmup
Left Hand - worked with 1/2 old york 80. 42lbs. Added platemates up until +10lbs.

Right Blobette - 45lbs base weight. A few warmup full deadlifts then. HOLDS/NEGATIVES with +12.5lbs, +15lbs. Index assist with free index finger, then hold under own power (3seconds or so). Someone asked about this. I apologize is this was confusing. I am a prick at times, but I will not embellish workout entries.

Elbow still a bit tweaked. Hand tired fast after negative holds.

Worked in sledge levering also. Nothing formal, lotta reps. Feel the burn.

After I hit the Y, will start shiny #2 closes.

Why does it seem like I am the only one who is not a mod on Grippermania?

Interesting Google Search

Look who is number 1, when we look for "pda blobette"!

SEARCH RESULTS

I use it every other day. Now, the edges are a bit sharp, not as roundish as a York or a Blob50, it is a bit bigger or portly overall and it is extremely smooth. As with all things yours may vary a bit. But if you take your time with it, you should make progress.

Platemates At EliteFTS

I mention Platemates alot throughout the Blog. They are truly a great tool especially for working your pinch. They are heavy duty, dont worry about dropping them. I went the "rare earth magnet route", the cracked ground up magnetic pieces are long thrown away.

Get your Platemates atELITEFTS .

25 bucks or so is a bargain for something you will use forever and 1/8th the price of some wristulator gizmo that you will get bored with after a few workouts.

Carry on!

Friday - 9/22

Great free stuff! No need to fatten someone's wallet. ;)

Left Hand - 1/2 York 80 - worked up to +8.125 lbs in Platemates. Concentrated on getting a few inches of air. Wrist still a bit tweaked but slowly improving.

Right - PDA Blobette 45lbs base - worked up to +3.75lbs in platemates, deadlift singles.

Right elbow was abit "off" this morning. May be the weather change. Old Judo injury.

Will do the shiny #2 singles beginning after work.

New Blog On the Block!

We see the functional grip guru has just entered the blogosphere! Welcome aboard!

Just a little friendly fire. The key to a high traffic blog, like for example Grip-Central here, is content. You need to put something up of value. Not ads pointing to equipment that is easily duplicated (like for example HERE), or readily printed PUBLIC DOMAIN Materials (the kind found HERE), or silly parables that are cut and pasted from the tired inner-circle playbook. Be original. And good luck.

Tuesday - 9/19

530AM
Lower Back/Ab Warmup
Ax lever - arm at side - front/rear 20 each
12lb sledge x12 , x15 - front
Ax+1.25 to rear 6,6,6 no rest.
Ax+2.5 to rear 4,4,4 no rest. One arm to the next.

Left wrist still a bit off, but improving.

Left - 1/2York 80
8 singles - working up to +7.5lbs of platemates. Last sets a few inches off ground. Wrist still a bit of a problem, but feels better.

Right - PDA Blobette - 45lbs base weight. 8 singles working up to +5lbs of Platemates. Got a bit humid in the cellar. Surface was slicker.

Will commence Shiny #2 closes starting after work.

The Return of The Senator of Grip?

We have seen that the Senator of Grip has returned to the Grippermania Forum, after his long self imposed exile. It is sad to see that the return is one marked by his own bitterness and resentment. Perhaps his cause has passed him by? We hope that he can set aside his vitriol and once again take up the heavy, noble task of spreading the philosophy of grip.

Until he comes around we will concentrate on on-line charlatans, some of which are dinosaurs who push "Irish" Boxing courses with 5 foot 4 empty headed models.

Build Your Own Fat/Thick Bars - McMaster Parts

Check this LINK. It has some nice schematics for putting together thick bars and also lists the McMaster part numbers.

In a few days you could be hammering away on some solid equipment.

Shiny CoC #2

I have been doing one or two fast closes every hour, with a wide set. This number #2 is definitely the most "varying" of my grippers. My other two #2's are the dark spring types and they are nearly identical. The shiny one is Stiff through it's whole range. The spread on the shiny unit is a tad under 3 inches.

Ironmind Reply Thread

Would it be a complete week unless a "Bash Ironmind Thread" appeared on the Gripboard? Apparently one of our heroes emailed Ironmind 5 times to set up his cert, there were no replies. He complains on the GB and lo and behold Ironmind replies.

Judging by this pinhead's previous posts and videos, my money says he was emailing the wrong address and was too embarassed to admit it.

In my experiences, you will find a no finer online fitness vendor than Ironmind. EliteFTS is right with them. The rest are mostly ham and eggers.

Time to wallow in my grip induced trauma.

INTENSITY PERSONIFIED

Thursday - 9/14

5AM
Lower Back/Abs circuit
Upright Rows w/ Apollon's Axle - 123-6setsx20 - FAST pace, rest was gulp of coffee between sets.

Seated DB 2.5inch Hammer Curls (Ironmind Olympic Husky+PVC) - 85x11. Stopped here. Good rep climb over the past few workouts no sense in going to the well too much.

Lower arms fairly worn out.

LEFT - 1/2 OLD York 80 (42lbs). 6 sets of 3, busting a few inches from ground. Worked up to +5lbs in Platemates. Wrist is still a bit raw. This width is a bit easier on it.

Right - PDA Blobette - added a tad more lead - 44.5lbs.
6 sets of 2 reps full deadlifts. Worked up to +3.75lbs.
Again, if you are joining in late, the PDA Blobette is much harder (for me at least) than the Blob50 and the Yorks I've tried. It is a bit "bigger" then the others and a bit more flare.

A response to the thread "How Often To Oil Grippers?"

I footstomp and use sperm.
Okay, I just oil them before contests or a huge PR.

:) :) - This response sums up the growing frustration with the lunatic fringe that has taken over the obscure sport of grip.

We definitely need a "Stupidity" Mod on these forums, moronic threads like this should not even start. Hey, Douche Nozzle, OIL YOUR FUCKING GRIPPER IF IT SQUEAKS. Is that clear enough?

Sunday 9/10

MILO!

The new MILO is here! Review to follow. Get to reading people.

Time Travel on the Gripboard?

Stop the fucking insanity! A time travel debate? Shouldn't this thread be on iliveinmyparentsbasement.com?

What next, a discussion of the Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie nuptials?

Just when you thought there were limits to moronity. ;)

Random Thoughts

I see that the two year old thread on women closing the #3 has been resurrected on the GB. From the looks of it there are a lot of insecure males over there. I've learned to never say never. There are a lot of strong females out there, my money is on the female. If Shannon Hartnett and others can toss around that heavy crap for the Highland games, who knows?

Also, if out of shape men with tits are closing heavily "seasoned" #3's, SE's, and choked #4's, why can't females? ;)

Google looks to be directing a good amount of traffic this way for people looking for the old-time barbell courses and the hand balancing stuff. Good to see. Why piss money away. That classic public domain stuff has been made available by the great people at Sandow. Take Advantage of it. No need to put up with "the print shop is overworked excuse." :)

Nice to see a new group of #4 chasers assemble over at Grippermania. Good luck guys! Maybe you can get the elusive big Canadian to throw up a photo or video to learn from. He certainly has no problem posting photos of his in-laws pickup truck.

Time to scramble some Omega-3 eggs.

Our Stomping Seasoning Boy Is At It Again

Seen on the GB:

"I have seen people state that spring heats up after many reps/foot stomps....I disagree with this. I have tried this on several grippers.....I did over 200-300 reps in succession on #3, BBGM, BBE, etc(all retained their specs afterward)....all were still cold when I touched the spring...i think this is a myth.....only thing that will heat up a spring is a deliberate use of a blowtorch or another such device..."

And This classic:

"My #3 lost about 0.5"(from BBSE level of 3.25" to 2.75" easier than BBE).....all other grippers lost about 1/16-1/8" in spread....basically equivalent to normal seasoning"

Check out the big brain on Mr. Metallurgy! Let's make this easy without opening a textbook. Get a fucking coat hanger, bend it back and forth rapidly, what happens? It fucking deforms then breaks. The friction of the molecules heats up the metal, etc etc etc. Steel is steel, whether it is a spring, a paperclip or a lowly coat-hanger. If it sits for a few seconds it will cool. By the time you bend your fat ass over to pick it up, it is already cooling. Benders know this as well.

We, at Grip-Central are confounded by this concern over "seasoning". If you are going for a REAL certification, you must close a gripper fresh out of the package. Might as well get used to it Gomer.

Seasoning = Soup
Seasoning <> Grippers

;)

Good Debate

It looks like the foot stomping method is under serious scrutiny on the gripboard and grippermania has a stuttering thread on hard versus easy ratings.

Judging by the hits we are seeing here at Grip-Central, we may be fueling the debate. Hopefully grip will become honourable again.

Norrin, has lost all hope. He has been curled up in the fetal position, mumbling to himself, all day because of the vicious volley of negative Joe Kinney kabitzing by nitwits. Maybe this will bring him out of his catatonic state.

And will someone please demand video from that big Canadian dope? Years ago, nearly wrecking a #4 from a no set would result in a "Locked Thread", now we are all taking warm showers with the guy!

Wed. 9/6

530AM
Abs
Chins - 40,50,20 Short rests.
Rope Pulls - 3x20
Face Pulls - 3x20
Hammer Lat - 3x20
Smith Press,Hammer Lateral,Hammer Press - 3 circuits. No rest
Light arms
Abs

Random Thoughts

I am reading the regular cycle of Joe Kinney bashing. Surprisingly it is on Grippermania. I ask myself, what did this guy have to gain by faking a close? Thumbtack in the glove for can bursting, torching a gripper, etc?

He lived in a house with no indoor plumbing, and these pinheads think he and his neighbors should have tricked out video cameras? In 1998? We have clowns on the boards now, that get a pass for not having a camera, when they claim to nearly no-set a #4 (Some of these same people have a camera to take pictures of their father-in-law's pickup truck.hmmm.)

What did he have to gain? A blurb in Milo?! Look, I love Milo. It's the only strength magazine I subscribe to. I am waiting like a lion in a cage for the latest issue now. BUT, to the outside world, it is one step above "Obscure Sports Quarterly".

Let it go people. There was an old thread on the GB where H.Sexton spent some time with Mr. Kinney. He left convinced he was the real deal. If Heath was convinced, well who am I to argue.

Time to get the non-heat-conducting aluminum frying pan going to make some raw eggs. ;)

Microloading

I have noticed a few new searches getting here looking for microloading ideas. I have had great success in using big steel washers.

Go to McMaster and search for part number: 91081A046

McMaster has great service and ships FAST!

These work great for microloading olympic sleeved equipment, grip machines with an olympic sleeve etc. The washers weigh about 5/8lb each. 8 to a pack.
Specs:

91081A046
Plain Steel USS Flat Washer 2" Sz, 2-1/8" Id, 4-1/2" Od,.153"-.213" Thk, Approx 8/Pk
In stock at $11.37 per Pack
This product is sold in Packs of 5 Lb.

Also, do not forget about PlateMate Magnets. Some scoff at the $25.00 price per pair, but they will last a lifetime and are INVALUABLE for Blob/Pinch training. They got me to "The Blob".

Dino Blue Light Special

We just got an email here at Grip-Central. Evidently the Dino-Man is blowing out his weight training materials. His prices are so low, they're INSANE!
The almost giveaway price of 800 bucks will start you well on the way of blowtorching bodyfat and troweling on inches of granite hard muscle. You will also get that nasty charly-horse agony in your balls after you realize you have been inner-circle jerked.

Save your money folks, there are no secrets. Work hard, don't eat shit, and most of all don't be a dick, and you will succeed.

Carry on.

That Fucking Does It

Now we have a thread on Grippermania ridiculing the Joe Kinney #4 close?! Most of the bashing is coming from #1 and #2 closers. Typical. The blowtorch to the spring, then close, theory was advanced. Sounds great. I'm waiting for some grip moron to hit his gripper with an acetylene torch then close it. Maybe the 3rd degree burns will knock some sense into him. (Our chubby Canadian stalwart-friend claims that aluminum handles will not get hot because it's a poor thermal conductor, I guess we should all throw out our aluminum cookware. Transferring heat from the element to the cooking side has been an illusion.)

And of course we have an active thread, AGAIN, on "The Place For Grip Strength", droning on endlessly about Ironmind and the credit card set - ("Recert with Ironmind and get a free #3 or some such baloney").

I think Ironmind did the right thing. They were too trusting, and it bit them. As far as I'm concerned, the Ironmind cert is THE Gold Standard. It seems like others are starting to realize it also.

At least we are starting to see the tide turn and more are voicing the opinion that you are only fooling yourself by foot stomping the innards out of your gripper. WE ARE WINNING SLOWLY BUT SURELY HERE! Keep it up people.

Thanks for all the emails over the weekend! It makes it all worth while!

Farmer Burns Course - FREE

I may start this tomorrow! You people who pissed money away to some inter-net charlatan may recognize most of it, except you paid a lot more. ;)

FARMER BURNS Wrestling and Physical Culture COURSE

Now a Fucking Rugby Thread

on the Gripboard???!!

First, the worst NFL team would kick the shit out of any Rugby team. Rugby is for drunks.

Second - This douchebag from Uruguay has gotten a free pass for too long. Find a remedial education program and get to work. Every fuking day it's "Who is stronger?", "Who is taller?", "Who makes the longest Craps?" etc etc

I see he is also polluting Ironhistory as well.

And stop ending your posts with "God Bless" this does not excuse you from being a simpleton ass-wipe. And people, for chissakes - STOP REPLYING TO HIM. Unless of course, if it is to be-little him. ;)

Flame off.

Time to fry some eggs.

Foot Humping The Grippers Again :(

One of the "Special Ed" members of Le'Grande Gripboard just spewed out the newest thread on foot raping a gripper:

He expounds that there seems to be some gaps in his Elite's spring. Then he reveals he marched all over his gripper like the Nazi's took Poland.

"I gave it a lot of foot stomps to season it....Now the
sweep feels fairly easy but the final 1/4" is still very difficult...definitely harder in the last part than
the #3 i got....wonder how it would compare to an avg BBE..."

Our man on Grippermania:
"the point is that my #3 unseasoned came in tougher than my BBE....with a 3.25" spread.....which put it out of my training reach...seasoning it down to its true spread of around 2.75" allowed me to be able to utilize it in my training...."

Hey numbnuts, you destroyed your grippers. You are supposed
to train with the gripper, not make it part of some sort of
sadistic humiliation ritual.

Updates

I see Bob has been firing some posts in. While I mostly agree about the latest PDA Bulletin, I think their 1,000 word response to the fellow who recommended streamlining their web site was a bit excessive.

I see from GB postings that our PDA purchaser tossed his over-priced leverage wrist device-ulator into the scrap heap. From the emails I have been getting, this seems to be the S.O.P. with that device.

Sunday Workout 9/3

830AM
Lower Back Ab Warmup.
Upright Row w/ Apollon's Axle - 123x20 193x31 173x20 123x20. Arms are hosed after this.
Seated Fat DB Hammer Curls w/ Ironmind Husky Olympic DB+PVC - 81.25x8each, 81.25x10 each.
These DBs are 22inches long. It is somewhat of an effort to control them. I added Platemates to each end. That adds to the effort. Next session will use big 5/8lb washers instead.

Light levering with arm at side. To front and rear. Used Ax and 10lb sledge.

Fooled with PDA Blobette to finish up.
Left - Holds - worked up to +10lbs of Platemates
Right - Holds - worked up to +13.75lbs of Platemates
Good control.

Sat through 3 hours of cold rain at Penn State Game. Still a bit off balance this morning. But a great time!
